2018 Evesham Wood
Pinot Noir Dundee Hills Cuvee
Yes, you read that correctly Dundee Hills Cuvée. This most likely one-time wine came about 2 years ago when a friend wo is the winemaker for a prominent winery in the Dundee Hills asked if I was interested in some Dundee Hills fruit. Having plenty of great sources secured for the year I said no thank you. Then he came back with a price that was too good to pass up. My plan was to have it go into our Willamette Valley blend, but when I started seriously tasting the barrels last year it was apparent we had some special barrels. I held 9 barrels back and bottled them up in February. Although it’s labeled cuvée all of the fruit came from a single vineyard. However, I’m only allowed to tell you what vineyard that is if I charge at least $85 per bottle which just is not the Evesham style. The dusty rose quality I often find in Dundee Hills Pinot Noir is fully on display combined with dark fruit and the great 2018 concentration. Delicious now and sure to age quite gracefully over the next 5 to 6 years. A true labor of love.
