2014 Haden Fig
Pinot Noir Le Puits Sec
2014 represented a fantastic yield and vintage to see what would happen if our prized Le Puits Sec was treated like the Haden Fig pinots. One fermenter was allowed to go through native yeast fermentation and was only punched down during the cuvaison. It is amazing for both the similarities as well as the differences with the Evesham Wood bottling.
2014 was a significantly warmer growing season than 2013 and the LPS bottling beautifully shows that difference. What surprised me a bit, and pleased me a lot, was how it shows the warmer growing season but has an alluring balance of liveliness and freshness. Black and red cherry, plum and sage with an exquisite silky texture that finishes fresh and elegant. 72 cases produced.
